Dear Shepherd’s Fold Family & Friends,
As we enter in to our second year of The Don Staires Scholarship Fund, I would like to take a moment to share the impact of your donations during last year’s scholarship drive and also impress on you the overwhelming need for these kids to have access to a place to do business with God. Don was one of the original co-founders of Shepherd’s Fold and wanted all kids to come to camp.
Last year, SFR donors gave a total of $40,120.00 towards the scholarship fund. This was achieved through your donations and gracious matching donations from anonymous donors who also believe in the power of the ministry here at the Fold.
Never before in the history of Shepherd’s Fold has there been such an outpouring of support for a scholarship program. I believe it is because together, we are seeing the need now more than ever for children to develop strong roots with the Lord. Shepherd’s Fold awarded scholarships (full and partial) to 115 kids last summer! These kids would not have been able to experience the ministry of Shepherd’s Fold without your donation. THANK YOU!!!!
As we look forward to this summer, we need you to invest in the spiritual growth of these children by donating to the Don Staires Scholarship Fund. There are few things more powerful than sending a child to camp. It is more than just a week of fun in the country; it is a week they can witness the people of God, living in community modeling God’s love. It’s an opportunity to see that there is another way to live than the picture that our culture currently shows. This is what Don and Shirley Staires felt when God first planted Shepherd’s Fold in their heart. Sadly, not all families are able to afford a week of camp. This is why we started this scholarship program, so that ALL children might be afforded the opportunity to attend Shepherd’s Fold, regardless of income. And as Don always loved to say, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.”
