Day #5 – Tulsa Summer Camp Director’s Journal – Hope Chitwood

We are gearing up for Christian Summer Camp near Tulsa! Today I took chairs into the new Mac building to see how many would fit because we are going to have a lot of kids here at camp this summer. We’ve been getting plans set for the life guard training and the ropes course training and the horse rides that will happen this summer. I am SO EXCITED! I cannot wait for camp to get here! There will be summer staff and campers everywhere! I am so ready to have Christian people here at camp in addition to myself and the Griffins.

We went to the US Foods food show yesterday and actually got to taste the food! Let me tell you, it was incredible! We’re going to have new food at camp this summer! My favorite thing I tried yesterday was the hamburgers. I’m not a hamburger person, but these were divine. 🙂

OH! Today, our new maintenance man, Jack, pulled the dead rose bushes out from in front of my house! We’re going to plant pretty flowery something so that they bloom this summer and bring color to the female leadership staff housing! I took pictures of the Treehouse Village cabins and the Clubhouse to send to Angie for Champ Camp brochures.

The golf tournament is coming up! It will be held at Bailey Golf Ranch in Owasso, OK. The golf tournament benefits summer camp at SFR. Here’s the other cool part if you sign up – you get to have fun playing golf with lots of other Christian people who love to play golf AND you get to write off your entry fee as a tax deductible donation! Click HERE to register today!

Shirley Staires, co-founder of Shepherd’s Fold Ranch, came to the Ranch today. She was looking through all of the old photo albums and taking pictures of the A-Frame and other buildings to put in her new book. It’s all about the history of Shepherd’s Fold and how the summer camp began and how the Lord orchestrated it all. I can’t wait to read it.
