Bird Watching
Oklahoma Christian Summer Camp and Retreat Center is an incredible place for Bird Watchers in Oklahoma.
We have almost 90 acres of beautiful forest that is largely untouched by human hands. There has been some oil companies that run pipe and we use some hiking trials, but it is largely undisturbed. As our mission is to “provide a place in the country where people can do business with God” we would love for nature enthusiasts and bird watchers to come and spend some time here.
Now I am no bird watching expert, but I am an event planner so I think I could help you figure out how to come and watch some birds here. First of all you need to call or email us and let us know you would like to come out. Second, we need to plan if your visit will simply be a day visit for yourself or if you are interested in hosting a weekend retreat for your fellow birders.
We would love to have you out to watch for the day and can usually accommodate you free of charge. For something requiring a little more work and attention we can help plan a wonderful bird watching event.
Day Retreat Ideas
Plan an event with your bird watching group and we can serve you home cooked meals, provide maps of our property and even guide you to our hiking trails to make your day very successful. Depending on the time of year you come you might even be able to see the bald eagles that visit annually! Typically this type of event is very cost efficient and can be the perfect day trip for most. We are only 45 minutes from Tulsa Oklahoma and 30 from Owasso.
Overnight Retreat Ideas
If you are interested in doing some activities while you are here it may be best to plan an overnight retreat for you and your friends. We offer quite a few country events including night time camp fires, hayrides, a ride on the zipline and if we have horses available, trail rides. To have an overnight retreat we require groups of at least 30. To fill the weekend and make the trip a blast we could include some things like board game night, movie night, sunset watching and canoeing in the pond. Think about how much fun it could be to have a dedicated weekend with your family and friends to be together, bird watch, have meals, relax and enjoy your fellowship. We are one the Least Expensive Retreat Places In Oklahoma yet provide top notch customer service. When you come you may be a guest, but I promise you will leave a family member. We have been “a place called home” for 42 years for good reason.
