Encountering God, Not Just Learning About Him

At Shepherd’s Fold Ranch, located in the heart of Oklahoma near Tulsa, summer camp is about
more than outdoor adventure, friendships, or activities. It is about encountering God in a
personal and transformative way.

The foundation of our ministry is simple. God is REAL, ACTIVE, and PRESENT, and He desires
to meet with every camper. We believe the Holy Spirit is not distant or abstract. He actively
reveals the heart of God to those who seek Him.

This belief shapes everything we do. Campers are invited into an environment where faith is not
just taught but experienced. Instead of only learning about God, they are given opportunities to
know Him personally.

Worship and the Holy Spirit at Camp

Worship at Shepherd’s Fold Ranch is intentionally designed to create space for connection with
Jesus.

Campers gather in a community setting using live music, guitars, and lyric-based visual
worship. The focus is not performance. It is participation. We teach campers to direct their
worship to God, not just sing about Him, which shifts worship from observation into
relationship.

In these moments, campers are invited to respond personally to God’s love through singing,
prayer, reflection, silence, and other authentic expressions of worship. The goal is not
emotional experience alone but genuine spiritual encounter.

We believe the Holy Spirit actively leads, comforts, and reveals truth. During worship and
teaching times, we regularly pray for deeper understanding of God’s love, sensitivity to His
voice, and personal transformation through His presence.

Campers may respond in a variety of ways such as lifting their hands, praying quietly,
journaling, or simply sitting in stillness. No single response is required. We value authenticity
and freedom, trusting that each person connects with God in a unique way.

Growing in Faith Through Everyday Camp Life

Shepherd’s Fold Ranch serves children and youth across multiple age groups, from elementary
campers to high school students. Because spiritual understanding develops over time, every
part of camp is designed to be age-appropriate, spiritually safe, and rooted in Scripture.

Younger campers are introduced to foundational truths like God’s love and their identity in
Christ. Older campers are invited into deeper questions about faith, purpose, and following
Jesus in everyday life.

While worship gatherings are meaningful, they are not the only place where campers encounter
God. Many powerful moments happen during daily camp life such as outdoor activities, cabin
conversations, shared meals, and mentorship relationships.

We help campers understand that God is not limited to a specific setting. He is present in every
part of their lives. Learning to recognize His presence beyond camp is one of the most
important steps in building a lasting relationship with Him.
