Ranch Camp: Learning to Love Others

Growing Faith During a Season of Change
The middle school and early high school years are filled with new opportunities, new responsibilities, and new questions. As students grow more independent, they begin making choices that shape who they are becoming.
Ranch Camp was created with this season of life in mind.
Building on the biblical foundation established in Treehouse Village, Ranch Camp challenges campers to consider how their relationship with Jesus influences the way they live, serve, and care for others. Rather than simply asking, “What do I believe?” campers begin asking, “How should my faith shape the way I treat people every day?”
This stage of discipleship is centered on learning to love others as Christ has loved us.
Choosing the Right Path Every Day
Following Jesus is not a one-time decision. It is a daily commitment.
At Ranch Camp, campers explore what it means to make wise choices, pursue integrity, practice self-control, and remain faithful when life becomes challenging. Through biblical teaching, outdoor experiences, and meaningful discussions, they learn that spiritual maturity is developed one decision at a time.
The curriculum addresses real-life topics that students encounter as they grow, including:
- Building godly character
- Responding to peer pressure
- Understanding the influence of their choices
- Developing self-control and integrity
- Trusting God’s strength instead of relying only on themselves
These conversations are grounded in Scripture and presented in ways that encourage students to think deeply about how their faith applies to everyday life.
Learning to Influence Others for Christ
One of the defining characteristics of Ranch Camp is the emphasis on influence.
Every student influences someone, whether they realize it or not. Through friendships, conversations, actions, and attitudes, young people have opportunities every day to encourage others or lead them in the wrong direction.
At Shepherd’s Fold Ranch, campers are encouraged to recognize that loving others involves more than kindness. It includes living with integrity, serving others with humility, and pointing people toward Christ through both words and actions.
As campers grow in their relationship with Jesus, they also begin preparing for the next step in their discipleship journey. Many will continue into the Forerunner program, where they will begin learning what it truly means to lead by serving.
