Serving in the Kingdom
Over the past couple of weeks, I have written a series of posts, each one focusing on one of SFR’s seven Guiding Principles. Be sure to check out each one here – Christ-Centered, Discipleship, Fun & Adventure, Relationship, Stewardship, and Unity. Today’s post will cover the last of our seven Guiding Principles: Service.
Shepherd’s Fold Ranch will always serve in a way that glorifies God.
We want Jesus to be the reason for everything we do. Matthew 20:26-27 says, “But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must become your slave. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
We have a phrase here at Shepherd’s Fold, “To lead is to serve.” It surrounds us daily. We believe serving others is a great way to become more like Jesus. Our Forerunner program is centered around this phrase. High school students in 11th & 12th grade sign up for our leadership development camping session, attend one week of training and then return for a second week as a Day Camp counselor, where they walk out the principles they learned during their training week.
