Shepherd’s Fold Ranch’s Code of the Kingdom
“Let your light shine before others…” – Matthew 5:16
As disciples, we are part of God’s family. At camp, we want to live in a way that reflects Jesus and His love. These are the values we will live by together:
1. We Will Choose Kindness
“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” – Ephesians 4:32
“Love one another deeply, from the heart.” – 1 Peter 1:22
• We will use kind words and actions.
• We will look out for one another.
• We will treat everyone as a beloved child of God.
2. We Will Practice Safety and Care
“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” – 1 Corinthians 10:31
“The prudent see danger and take refuge…” – Proverbs 27:12
• We will listen to those entrusted to guide us.
• We will help create an environment where everyone feels safe and welcome.
• We will protect our bodies and our community with wise choices.
3. We Will Take Responsibility
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.” – Colossians 3:23
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others.” – 1 Peter 4:10
• We will care for our things and our shared spaces.
• We will show up ready to serve, learn, and participate.
• We will live with purpose and a willing spirit.
4. We Will Walk in Honesty
“Each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor.” – Ephesians 4:25
“The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy.” – Proverbs 12:22
• We will tell the truth, even when it’s hard.
• We will take ownership of our actions.
• We will live with integrity because we belong to Christ.
5. We Will Choose Joy and Gratitude
“Do everything without grumbling or arguing.” – Philippians 2:14
“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!” – Philippians 4:4
• We will look for the good and give thanks often.
• We will encourage others with our words and actions.
• We will celebrate each day as a gift from God.
When Someone Struggles with These Values:
We believe in grace, truth, and growth. If someone is having a hard time living out these values, we’ll walk with them in love — offering correction when needed and supporting them in making things right.
Sometimes that may include:
• A private conversation
• Time to reflect or a break from an activity
• A talk with camp leaders and parents
• In rare cases, returning home early for the good of the group and the camper
