Ministry at SFR

Q: What’s this summer's ministry theme?

A: This summer’s theme is still being prayed over and developed! It is our 53rd  Summer of ministry!!

Q: Why does Shepherd’s Fold do baptisms?

A: A week at Shepherd’s Fold is a powerful time that God uses to change lives. Baptisms are an outward expression of that inward change. It is a public statement of a camper’s commitment to be known and to live fully committed as a follower of Christ.

Q: What if my child wants to be baptized, and can I be there?

A: All campers will be asked by their counselor no later than Thursday if they want to be baptized. If a camper would like to be baptized, a Senior Leadership Team member will call the parent to discuss the camper’s request. Parents have the final say if their child is baptized.

Baptisms will take place on Saturday prior the closing ceremony. And of course, parents are invited to attend the closing ceremony, baptisms, and awards!

Q: Do you have a dedicated page for all COVID-19 related issue?

A: Why yes...yes we do CLICK HERE

Q: How do I know my camper will be safe?

A: Your children are the most precious possession not just to you but to God. We will do everything we can to ensure your child’s safety, health, and well-being. Here are a few things we do to ensure your child is well cared for:

  • Clear background checks for all staff
  • Intensive discipleship training and training in all camp policies and emergency and security procedures as well as behavior management and child development for all staff
  • Certification for all staff in first-aid and CPR
  • Certification in other expertise areas including lifeguarding and ropes course
  • Follow all American Camp Association standards

Shepherd's Fold Ranch is an accredited camp with the American Camp Association.

Q: What about severe weather?

A: Our leadership staff keeps watch for any severe weather (high winds, hail, lightning, tornadoes.) In the event of severe weather, campers will be moved to shelter until it has cleared. All staff are trained in severe weather procedures and will instruct campers throughout the situation.

Camper Communication

Q: Can I come and visit my camper?

A: Parents are not able to make on site visits during camp.

Camp Descriptions and Pricing

*Registration ages are according to the grade the camper will go into the following year.*

THV Mini (Entering 2nd-7th Grade)

Sunday - Wednesday

Tree house Mini-Week is for 2nd - 7th graders who aren't quite ready for a full week away from home. We'll pack an entire week of camp adventures into half the time and still include all the fun and friends a weeklong camp would provide.

Check in time: Between 3-5pm
Final award ceremony: 4:30pm

Treehouse Village (Entering 3rd-7th Grade)

With a low counselor-to-camper ratio, Treehouse Village provides lots of one-on-one time. Campers learn the foundation of their true self is knowing God loves them. Campers spend their week participating in pool games, riding the zipline over the pond, playing games, peer fellowship and so much more! Bible-based object lessons, parables and worship encounters are a fundamental part of each day.

Ranch Camp (Entering 7th-10th Grade)

Ranch Camp combines rich camping traditions with a spiritual emphasis on issues confronting youth. We pack ropes courses, canoeing, skits, night games, ziplines, frisbee golf and so much more into each exciting day. Worship encounters are vital at camp; by sharing Jesus' unconditional love, kids develop their identities in Christ through relationships and challenges that lead to a trust in God.

Forerunner (Entering 11th-12th Grade)

++ Plus one volunteer week

This camp is a continuation of SFR's mission to 'train up a child' (Proverbs 22:6). It's exclusively for 11th - 12th graders and is designed for those who desire to transition into a leader. Ideally, this preparation time of transitioning campers into staff member lasts 2 summers. Campers will find themselves among a group of strong, like-minded believers, all ready for the greatest summer of their lives.

-New, improved lessons focused on Scripture Based leadership qualities
-Differentiated curriculum for first and second year Forerunners
