SFR Morning Encounter – How do we lead them?

HOW do we lead morning encounters?IMG_0199

We first gather as a group to receive instruction, then break up individually to process through instruction (“what” we’re going to do).  This instruction includes the “mode” by which we are going to encounter God (nature, art, scripture, silence, prayer).  It also includes instruction on how to use this “mode” to encounter God.  These steps need are very practical.  Young or immature believers need the structure to enhance their experience.  Without it, it can be very difficult and even discouraging.  This is probably the biggest reason why people don’t do “quiet times” in the first place.

After about 20-30 minutes, depending on the age group, we gather again for debriefing and evaluation.  We ask the campers to share what the Lord revealed to them, what they discovered about the Lord during their quiet time. The debrief is filled with discussion and encouraging revelations.

If you have any questions regarding our morning encounters, feel free to call the office at 918-263-3622, or email the Camp Director at Hope@sfrcamps.com.
