Summer Camp is over and the heat is still here…
Do you ever have days where you just want to be a grumpy bear?
Or those days where your own words come back to you?
August 31, 2012…
My air conditioning didn’t work all night. Because it was so hot, I was basically awake until 5:30 this morning. When I finally got to sleep, an hour and a half later, my alarm went off. At 7am this morning, I decided today I deserved to be grumpy. As I was getting ready for the day, thoughts entered my mind… “You have so much to be thankful for”…”Deserve? Why do you deserve to be grumpy?”. Then, the truth that I shared with someone only a few days ago came boldly into my mind… “Look up and smile. You have a GREAT God who loves you!”
So many times we get wrapped up in ourselves that we need to be reminded that it’s not about us. And we’re not alone. God is right by our side, walking with us through everything. He suffered the greatest pain, the greatest humiliation ever known to man and all I have to do is sleep without air conditioning? Wow. I think I can handle that–especially knowing the Lord is right by my side.
Today is a GREAT day. The weather outside is BEAUTIFUL. I am blessed with a wonderful family and a fantastic job that I LOVE. Most importantly, I have a GREAT God who loves me. And so do you. So–smile about it! 🙂
