Discipleship is a journey, not a destination. At Shepherd’s Fold Ranch, we believe spiritual growth happens over time as young people learn to know Jesus, follow Him faithfully, and help others do the same.
That conviction shapes every camp program we offer. Rather than viewing camp as a collection of unrelated experiences, we see each stage as part of a larger pathway of growth. Every summer builds on the one before it, helping campers deepen their understanding of God, strengthen their character, and prepare for greater responsibility.
As children mature, the questions they ask change. Their challenges become more complex, and their faith is tested in new ways. Our discipleship pathway is designed to meet campers where they are while continually pointing them toward a deeper relationship with Christ.
A Discipleship Journey for Every Season
The discipleship pathway at Shepherd’s Fold Ranch begins with Treehouse Village, where younger campers discover foundational truths about God’s love, their identity in Christ, and the joy of living in Christian community.
As campers move into Ranch Camp, they begin exploring how their faith influences everyday decisions, relationships, and personal character. They are encouraged to develop resilience, integrity, and a growing dependence on Jesus as they navigate the challenges of adolescence.
For students who are ready for greater responsibility, the journey continues through Forerunner, where servant leadership and intentional discipleship become a central focus. Campers learn to serve others, grow in spiritual maturity, and begin preparing for leadership roles within the camp community.
Following high school, The Furnace offers an immersive discipleship experience that equips young adults to become faithful leaders who influence others through their example, service, and commitment to Christ.
Each program serves a distinct purpose, but together they tell one story: helping young people become lifelong disciples of Jesus.
Preparing Campers for a Lifetime of Following Jesus
The goal of Shepherd’s Fold Ranch is not simply to help campers have a meaningful week each summer. Our desire is to equip them for a lifetime of faithful discipleship.
That is why every stage of the journey emphasizes both spiritual formation and practical application. Campers are encouraged to build habits that continue beyond camp, including spending time in Scripture, developing a consistent prayer life, serving others, and participating in Christian community.
As campers progress through the discipleship pathway, they begin to recognize that following Jesus is not defined by a single decision or emotional experience. It is a daily commitment that shapes every part of life.
Our prayer is that each camper leaves Shepherd’s Fold Ranch with a stronger faith than when they arrived, and with the confidence to continue walking with Christ wherever He leads.
